I walked into the conformation ring for the first time in 1976 with a Yorkshire Terrier who went Best of Winners under Mrs. Anne Rodgers Clark. I had wanted to show dogs forever so in high school when I got the chance to work with Toy Breed handler, JoAnne Dinsmore, I jumped on it.
In 1982, I was blessed with Bailey, CH Birchrun Bayleaf of Abbyroad, from Mary Schmitt. Mary sent me on the journey of a lifetime filled with great dogs and great friends.
I've been a member of ESAA since 1982, wrote a beginner's column for the ESAA newsletter back in the mid-80's and ESAA's AKC Gazette column from 2001-2008. Competing with my dogs is my passion. Writing about dogs is the next best thing.
In 1997, I began feeding a raw diet to my dogs and from there came my how-to book, Switching to Raw. You can learn more at www.switchingtoraw.com.
Hope you enjoy a walk down Birchrun!
