When Lin Sell called me in June of 2004 and offered a Casey granddaughter, my immediate thought was "no, I hadn't planned on getting a puppy right now." But the more Lin talked about her attitude and her naughtiness, I agreed to look at pictures and a video. A month later I was driving from northern Illinois back to Texas with a screaming puppy!
Tatum hit the ground running...Let The Games Begin! Swimming with her Golden friend, conformation classes, running with her Australian Cattle Dog friend. In Tatum's case, a tired puppy was a good puppy.
In her Futurity class at her first National, Tatum rolled onto her back and watched the goings-on upside down. I turned to look at Lin, she shrugged her shoulders and said "you wanted attitude!" I knew then we were on our own!
From this endless energy came training - a repertoire of tricks as long as my arm, sailing through agility classes, showing with boundless enthusiasm, and now working on some novice obedience refinement. Every night Tatum comes to me and says 'what are we going to do?'
Tatum has a temperament beyond any English Setter I've ever had. She loves everyone; dogs, kids, adults. She is full of energy yet loves to curl up on your lap and give you a hug.
Tatum comes from an all-BAER normal, all OFA hips good and excellent, and all OFA elbows normal litter. Tatum is excited about attempting agility, obedience and conformation at the 2007 ESAA National in Ohio.
